Join us for a service trip to the communities along the Onzole River! This trip offers a rare opportunity to step into a remote area and engage in deeply meaningful, reciprocal development. In this canoe-accessible Afro-Ecuadorian village, we will be working alongside local leaders to engage practically in meeting community needs. Among a community that has faced severe systemic barriers to education and opportunity, we will seek to show the love of God through service. By participating in initiatives like building community infrastructure or leading kids’ Bible camps, we will directly contribute to sustainable, generational change. We also have a unique opportunity to show a community that they are cared for and seen.
Beyond the impact of the community projects, this experience is a profound exercise in cultural humility and personal transformation. The Onzole people have a rich and vibrant heritage, and on this trip, we will also be invited to listen deeply and learn from a community that thrives on connection and mutual support. We return home not only with a broader worldview and a network of lifelong global friendships, but with a renewed sense of the dignity and value God placed inside of each person and how to continue similar work in our contexts.
