Or far more important: a chance to be a part of the spiritual battle for central Europe, to understand God in a new way, to learn from those giving their lives for the gospel? What is Together Hungary?
Together Hungary is a cross-cultural program designed for you to gain experience living as a missionary in an international context. Even if you haven’t spent time overseas, you may be equipped with a heart for ministry, practice intentionally towards others, and have a desire to grow. This opportunity allows you not just to get plunged into pre-planned activities, but to live and relate alongside Hungarian students and Navigator staff. You will either take “American work” to occupy your mornings and some afternoons (think 15-25 hours/week) or you will be immersed in language-learning and cross-cultural training in that time.* The afternoons, evenings, and weekends will be connecting with staff and students in the rhythm of Hungarian relationship: slow and deep.
Americans bring a sense of energy and “special moment” that allows the Hungary staff to go further than normal with the students. Our presence in their day-to-day rhythm and summer trips is often a spark that God uses. The team will also focus on language-learning as a way to connect, especially with young Hungarian students eager to share their culture.

* “American work” could be a remote job, classes, fundraising, partner development (for staff), or any other form of responsibility.
