Dedicate your summer to living and discipling among the people of Eldoret, Kenya! Serve in a diverse ministry that is passionate about fostering the spiritual growth of high school and college students, while also caring for families in the local community.
You will work alongside local Navigator staff as they lead a summer training program for high school and college students. The program includes bible study, cooking and sharing meals, recreational activities, and worship! While interacting with these students, God will bring about many opportunities to share your faith. If you enjoy initiating spiritual conversations and are flexible and willing to step out of your comfort zone, then this trip may be right for you. Be ready to share your testimony in a concise way—or even be asked to recite Bible verses on the spot!
You will stay in the homes of local Navigator staff where you will get insight into the family dynamics in Kenya. You will have the opportunity to share meals with your host family, engaging in enriching conversations at the dinner table. Be prepared for them to ask you about U.S. culture! Additionally, throughout the week, you will have numerous opportunities to explore the city center and the surrounding local community.
While in Kenya, you will have weekly meetings with your American teammates. Your team leaders will facilitate these sessions, focusing on your well-being and providing opportunities to reflect on the past week’s activities. During these sessions, you will also receive training for upcoming bible study activities.
God will use the intensity of this program, the challenging living conditions, and the worldviews of a different culture to deepen your dependence on Christ and build unity and love within your team. Embrace the challenge and beauty of an authentic Kenyan experience as you build long-lasting friendships!
