Middle East North Africa Adventure (Summer 2024)

TRIP DESCRIPTION

Invest a portion of your summer learning about ministry among unreached people groups from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). This trip is spread into two parts:

In the first part, we invite you to participate in a Nations Within program in Dallas. Join local Navigator staff to observe and learn how they minister to refugee and immigrant communities. This weeklong program will be spent in the local community, visiting local mosques and being among Muslim communities. As you observe and participate, local staff will prepare you for further ministry in the MENA region as you complete daily debriefs and training content.

For the second part of the trip, we invite you to join a long-running international camp as you invest your summer serving youth in the Middle East. The camp’s purpose is to help children and youth grow and develop as individuals, friends of God, and followers of Jesus Christ. Staff, especially counselors, fulfill this purpose by implementing exciting electives, beneficial Bible studies, and fun yet challenging activities.

Counselors in the program need to have lots of energy and stamina. They should also be flexible and able to adapt and creatively utilize the supplies at hand to serve. You will be stretched in ways you might not have imagined during your time, but God-honoring growth will also occur. Not only will you grow, but you will see children and youth develop in life-changing ways – and you will play crucial roles in their growth! Without you there to talk with, learn from, play with, pray with, and just be with, such wondrous growth would likely not take place at all, and the success of this camp depends on committed, caring counselors like you.

Counselors are expected to arrive, attend in-country orientation, lead or co-lead their campers through Bible studies (materials provided), lead or assist with one elective (planned by you and your co-leader), eat meals with their youth, and participate in all group activities. We do our best to ensure counselors and staff get time off each day for rest and renewal. As this is a time of serving on your part, we also expect you to be able to put aside your personal concerns/issues/desire to spend time on the Internet, etc., as you serve. Staff members are available during your free time to support you and talk through any problems or concerns you may have.

All expenses for the program are raised through the Navigators. Funds will cover lodging, meals, materials, and celebrations for both parts of the trip.

Each applicant is asked to prayerfully consider whether or not you will be able and willing to participate in the 2024 program. The leadership team will review all applications upon receipt and will be in touch with you shortly after receipt of both your application and your references.

We trust that God will guide us in the selection process and will enable you to come and serve!
